01 // OPERATIONAL CONSTRAINT

The Operational Bottleneck.

A growing handmade-goods brand had outgrown off-the-shelf platforms. They needed full control over product variants, pricing, inventory and content without paying per-sale platform fees or fighting template limits.

Root Cause Analysis

Architectural fragility resulting from manual workflows, unindexed datasets, or third-party template limits.

02 // ARCHITECTURAL RESPONSE

The Engineering Strategy.

We engineered a bespoke Next.js storefront backed by Convex, with a complete in-house admin panel: products with variants, categories, orders, coupons, a gallery & homepage CMS, role-based team access and live analytics, plus an interactive 3D product viewer and Razorpay checkout.

DS—010C // SYSTEM BLUEPRINT

How the system was constructed.

A serverless Next.js edge deployment communicating with a Convex real-time database via tRPC, ensuring instant UI updates across the admin and storefront.

MODULE 01

Frontend

Next.js App Router, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion for fluid transitions.

MODULE 02

3D Engine

React Three Fiber rendering optimized GLTF models for product visualization.

MODULE 03

Database & API

Convex providing end-to-end type safety and real-time WebSocket subscriptions.

MODULE 04

Payments

Razorpay Webhooks handling async payment capture, refunds, and failures.

DS—010D // CRITICAL OBSTACLES

Engineering Challenges Overcome.

Production Complexity Log
CHALLENGE 01

Variant Combinatorics

Designing a relational database schema in Convex to handle complex product variants (Size, Color, Material) with independent pricing and inventory tracking.

CHALLENGE 02

Performance Overhead of 3D

Lazy-loading the WebGL context and compressing 3D models via Draco to ensure the 3D viewer did not impact Core Web Vitals on mobile.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Technology Selected.

Engineered with modular, standards-compliant tooling designed for zero lock-in and high-speed execution.
